After graduating from Western Michigan University in 1988 Kathy taught science and health at Parchment High School and the Battle Creek Area Math and Science Center for 11 years. During that time she picked up a masters degree. Kathy also co-coached (with her husband) the Parchment High School Freshman Lady Panthers Basketball teams from 1997 to 2001. In the spring of 2002 she left her teaching and coaching responsibilities to pursue a career in pharmaceutical sales with GlaxoSmithKline. In the fall of 2007 Kathy left GSK for a position in with the Shoreline Wellness and Rehabilitation Center.

In 2008 Kathy and I went to see the 2 Worlds 2 Voices tour starring Reba McEntire and Kelly Clarkston at Van Andel arena. A very funny Melissa Peterman opened for them. Mom bought the tickets. Dad and sis also attended.

In 2007 Kathy and I attended the Faith Hill / Tim McGraw concert at Van Andel arena. Taylor Swift was the opening act.

For her birthday in 2006 I took Kathy for a night's stay at "The Henderson Castle" and I also treated her to an evening of entertainment compliments of the king of comedy, Jerry Seinfeld. He was AMAZING!! My laugh muscles ached for weeks afterwards.

Kathy and I roadtripped to The Palace of Auburn Hills on Saturday, October 15, 2005 to watch legendary Beatle performer Paul McCartney put on a truly amazing show. Actually it wasn't a show. It was an event. One of the most amazing events I've ever witnessed. Of the 36 songs he played many many were vintage Beatles material as Paul seemed to really be enjoying a walk down memory lane mixed in with some classing Wings and even some songs off his most recent album. Can you think of a musician any bigger than Paul? Honestly, can you?
