CTO: Responsible for the day to day operations of the Office of Information Technology (OIT) which is comprised of approximately 100 full time employees, 200 student employees, and numerous contractors. OIT is comprised of 9 distinct units which provide a wide range of services to the students, faculty, and staff at WMU including Telecommunications, Media Services, Administrative Applications, Academic Applications, Networking, Help Desk, Classroom Technology, Production Control, Operations, Computer Lab Support, Faculty Technology, Security, Database Administration, Educable, Project Management, and LAN Administration.

Director of Enterprise Applications: In 2010 as part of an Office of Information Technology restructuring my staff size expanded to 16 programmer/analysts and 4 project managers and the list of ERP systems my teams support expanded to include the Sungard/SCT Luminis Portal and Sun Identity Management.

Director of Applications: Responsible for a staff of 12 programmer/analysts and 2 project managers who provide applications support for the main ERP systems on campus. The Banner Student Information System, PeopleSoft Human Resources Management System (including Payroll), the PeopleSoft Financial System, Blackboard Vista eLearning, and the Touchnet ecommerce modules make up the core of the ERP systems supported. Support takes the form of upgrades, production support, maintenance, enhancements, and new development. Work closely with a number of formal tactical and strategic change management committees.

Assistant Director of Applications: Responsible for a staff of 12 programmer/analysts, 4 project managers, and 4 database administrators who provide application development and maintenance for a variety of clients both academic and administrative. Some of our primary clients are the Registrar, the Provost, Admissions, Financial Aid, Human Resources, Payroll, Accounting, and the Library. The Applications group also supports a variety of diverse hardware and software environments from web to client server to mainframe solutions. Due to University budget constraints this position was expanded in 2003 to include Database Administration management and Special Applications Group management.

PeopleSoft Administrative Projects Manager: Manage the Administrative Information Services PeopleSoft Financial Applications Development Team within the Office of Information Technology. PeopleSoft modules supported by this team include Payroll, Human Resources, Benefits, Asset Management, General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Purchasing, Budgets, Accounts Receivable, Grants, Billings, Projects, and Contracts. Primary responsibilities of this position include coordination of large projects such as those listed below, as well as coordination of all maintenance, tools upgrades, minor application upgrades, and daily production support.

Student Information Systems Project: Technical Project Leader, Functional Users Team member, and Operational Users Team member on an SCT/Sungard managed project to do the following: Replaced WMU's mainframe based legacy student information system and financial aid system with a variety of SCT/Sungard's version 6.2 UNIX/Oracle based Internet Native Banner and Self Service Banner student and financial aid modules. In addition to the core Banner modules, this project also included the implementation of the following related software packages: Luminus portal, iWebfolio, Operational Data Store, Enterprise Data Warehouse, Appworx scheduling, Legato backup and recovery, Workflow, a suite of Touchnet financial products, XtenderSolution imaging, WebCT, TracDat, and Cognos. My primary area of concentration was the accounting related modules; however my general technical leadership extended to project level technical consulting, security, data migration, interfaces, modifications, standards, issues tracking, reporting, in-house resource management, and contract resource management. Projected budget for this project was $25,000,000.00. The tail end of the project included a six month upgrade of the core modules from Banner 6.2 to Banner 7.3.(2004-2006)

PeopleSoft/Purchasing-Accounts Payable-General Ledger-Budget-Grants Project: Technical Project Leader and voting Steering Committee member on an in-house managed project to do the following: Upgrade all of WMU's PeopleSoft financials based modules from client server based 7.5 to the web based 8.4 versions of these modules. Budget for this project was $150,000.00. (2003-2004)

PeopleSoft/HR-Payroll-Benefits Project: Technical Project Leader and voting Steering Committee member on an in-house managed project to do the following: Upgrade WMU's PeopleSoft Human Resources, Payroll, and Benefits modules from client server based 7.5 to the web based 8.3 versions of these modules. Budget for this project was $175,000.00. (2002-2003)

PeopleSoft/Grants/Billings/Accounts Receivable Project: Technical Team Leader and voting Steering Committee member on a $1,200,000.00 WMU and Deloitte Consulting co-managed project to do the following: Enhance Western's PeopleSoft Grants 7.5 module and install PeopleSoft Billings, Projects, and Accounts Receivable 7.5 modules. WMU was the first company to use PeopleSoft's Billings module in conjunction with it's Grants module.(2001-2002)

PeopleSoft/Purchasing-Accounts Payable-General Ledger-Budget-Grants Project: Technical Team Leader and Steering Committee Member on a $7,000,000.00 WMU and Deloitte Consulting co-managed project to do the following: Replace Western's PeopleSoft GL 2.0 OS/390-DB2 commercial module with the equivalent UNIX-Oracle 7.5 module. Upgrade the PeopleSoft AP/PO 6.1 UNIX-Oracle modules to 7.5. Install PeopleSoft Budget 7.5 and PeopleSoft Grants 7.5 UNIX-Oracle modules. (2000-2001)

PeopleSoft/HR-Payroll-Benefits Project:Technical Team Leader and voting Steering Committee Member on a $6,000,000.00 WMU and Deloitte Consulting co-managed project to replace Western's PeopleSoft HR-Payroll-Benefits 7.0 OS/390-DB2 Government and Education modules with equivalent UNIX-Oracle 7.5 modules. (1999 to 2000)

PeopleSoft/Purchasing: Managed the implementation of PS/Purchasing public sector release 6.0 in January of 1998 on a UNIX/Oracle7 platform. (1997-1998)

PeopleSoft/Accounts Payables Project: Member of Administrative Information Services financial development team that implemented the commercial version of PS/Accounts Payables 5.1 in March 1996 on Windows-NT/Oracle7 platform. Managed the conversion/upgrade of PS/AP to public sector release 6.0 in January of 1998 on a UNIX/Oracle7 platform. (1995-1998)

PeopleSoft/General Ledger Project: Member of Administrative Information Sevices' financial development team. Implemented the commercial version of PS/General Ledger 2.0 in May 1994 on MVS/DB2 platform. WMU was the world's first DB2 site to successfully perform a production year-end close exclusively using PeopleSoft. (1992-1994)

Web Master: One of three HTML authors of Administrative Information Services' WWW site at which was brought online in December of 1994. (1994-1996)

LAN Administrator: Administer LAN software and operating system for three Administrative Information Systems Novell Netware(releases 2 through 4) token-ring/ethernet LANs. This included strategic planning and positioning concerning future short term LAN improvements and long term direction. Software installed/maintained includes Windows 3.1, Windows 95, Windows NT, DOS, MicroSoft Word/Excel/Access, TCP3270 mainframe emulation software (EXTRA and McGill), APS COBOL code generator, MicroFocus COBOL Workbench, Netscape, FTP, and other internet tools. Some hardware duties also performed such as PC/printer installations/configurations. (1990 - 2003)

Programmer/analyst: Maintained and enhanced University financial system, student information system, and human resource system. Also, served as member of development team for a student recruitment system, a University assessments system, a University cost analysis system, and a news and publications system.
