TOM'S FAVORITE 100 SONGS
Want a challenge? Name your favorite song of all time. Better yet try to name and RANK your top 100 songs of all time. It's harder than it sounds.
Below you will find "MY TOP 150 (or so)" songs of all time. They are broken down into 3 categories. The first group are those songs that I like but that
did not make my top 100. The second group are songs 51 to 100. And the third and final group is my top 50 ranked from 1 to 50. Feel free to send me your
opinion of this top 100 list but keep in mind that I didn't call this the top 100 greatest songs of all time. I called it my top 100 "favorite" songs of

Tom's Logic: Obviously there are those of you who won't agree that "Sweet Home Alabama" is a worthy selection as my all-time favorite song so I thought I would provide you with an explanation of how I made this selection. It's really quite simple. "Sweet Home Alabama" has exceptional HBF and AGF ratings. By that I mean that when most people listen to "Sweet Home Alabama" (SHA) they can't help but start bobbing their heads to the music thus giving SHA an exceptional Head Bobbing Factor (HBF) rating. And the guitar play in SHA is simple yet exceptional which is very important to those of us who grew up in the 1970's especially those of us who spent more time at high school dances playing air guitar than actually dancing. Thus SHA has an exceptionally high Air Guitar Factor (AGF). Combine high AGF and HBF ratings with the fact that SHA is considered a CLASSIC by both the country community as well as the rock and roll community and you have one of the most amazing, if not THE most amazing song of all time. Add to that the mystique of a band who lost many of it's key musicians in a freak plane crash "before their time" ala James Dean and River Phoenix, and you have the rationale behind my selection of "Sweet Home Alabama" as my all-time favorite song. Still don't agree? Well I'll make you a deal then. If you are willing to share your top 5 songs of all time with the world then feel free to email them to me and I will be happy to create some space on this web page to honor your selections. OK, time to put the headphones on and "TURN IT UP"......
